The Church That I Long For...
1. A Church Who Reaches Out With The Love and Grace of Jesus Christ.
I long to pastor a church that is passionate about living out and radiating the love and grace of Jesus Christ, and who are convinced that the Gospel is infused with the power of God for all who will believe. Why? Because people matter to God.
2. A Church Where People Experience the Life-Changing Presence of God.
I long to pastor a church in which our worship is focused on God alone as the Object and the Audience. God is the object because He alone is worthy of our sincere praise. God is the audience for we seek to please only Him. In every thing we do in worship our goal is that there is Meaning and Relevance for people’s lives, and always with a Commitment to Excellence.
3. A Church Where People Are Engaged in Discipleship.
I long to pastor a church where people are learning, growing and changing through study of God’s Word, where people are engaged in a process of discipleship which does not allow them to be content with a mediocre Christian experience.
4. A Church With A Strong Family Ministry.
I long to pastor a church that is committed to building strong Christian families, where children are taught at an early age that God loves them and desires to be part of their lives, where teens are provided an atmosphere in which they can form their understanding of God’s will for their lives, and where parents are resourced with the tools, support and encouragement to be an example of Christian faithfulness.
5. A Church Where People Are Discovering And Using Their Spiritual Gifts.
I long to pastor a church where the Body of Christ is functioning like a body, where people experience the greatest form of joy and fulfillment because they are serving according to their strengths, according to how God has uniquely designed them to serve.
6. A Church Where People Genuinely Show Their Love for One Another.
I long to pastor a church where people realize that there is nothing better than true fellowship within the family of God, where people care for one another, support one another and are delighted to welcome new family members into the fold.
7. A Church That Is Passionate About Global Missions.
I long to pastor a church where people’s hearts break for the things that break the heart of God. As Jesus wept for
8. A Church That is Guided By The Holy Spirit As A Result of Fervent Prayer.
I long to pastor a church where people are led by God, as a result of fervent and dedicated prayer. In the church I long for the vision, goals and objectives rise directly out of the times when people seek the help, wisdom and boldness that can only come through prayer.
