ZAMBIA AFRICA VILLAGE
NAKOWA ORPHAN TRUST PROJECT
Our Zambia village Trust Project is already engaging in livelihood improvement projects. The support has come in to run a poultry project. The Nakowa Community Trust is located approximately 120 km from World Hope International, Zambia's headquarters, in the town of Choma and just 50 km from Livingstone, the home of the magnificent Victoria Falls. Nakowa Community is one of the densely populated rural areas in the Southern Province with approximately 145,000 people living in the Community. It is surrounded by peasant farmers and rural villages, but it is also a transit town. Thus, the HIV / AIDS infection rate is higher because of truck drivers who both contract and spread the disease. Like many areas in Zambia, the prevalance of poverty also helps spread HIV / AIDS and consequently adds to the number of orphans and widows. The trust has two major projects:
1). Broiler Chicken rearing and 2). Tailoring
We thank God that we can be involved in this much-needed ministry.
